How to Convert Door Lock from Mechanical to Central Locking

Model: Mazda Mx 5 NB, MK 2 - Years 1998-2005
Part: Accessory kit

Using a specific kit, you can convert your car's door locking system from mechanical to central locking. First, remove the door panel, starting with the clip of the window winding handle. Then unscrew the casing behind the door handle. Carefully remove the screw caps from the armrest and disassemble it. Use a flat tool to pry off the speaker grille. Now pry off the door panel. Partially remove the film. Now install the actuator support bracket, ensuring the actuator is parallel to the lock control rod at an angle of about 20 degrees. Connect the actuator to the lock control rod using the rod and clamp provided with the kit. Connect the wires between the actuator and the control unit, following the corresponding colours and ensuring they pass through the door without interfering with the window movement, exiting alongside the other factory cables. Then attach the connector to the control unit and connect the latter with the red cable to a power cable (for example, from the ignition switch) and the black cable to a ground. Now, verify the correct operation, secure the control unit with ties or supports, and reassemble the door panel. Repeat the process on the other door.

Want to remove the spark plugs from your Mercedes? Let's see how to do it in this video. Pull the hood release lever and lift the front hood, then secure it. You will find the coils under the metal soundproofing panel covering the engine. Remove the panel with a socket wrench and take it off.
