- Years 2002-2008 To replace the Mazda 6 door lock proceed as follows:!) Disconnect the battery. 2) Proceed with the removal of the entire door panel taking care not to damage the electrical connections present and not to damage the plastic clips present. 3) After removing the door panel, proceed with removing the drive shaft that connects the handle to the door lock. 4) Remove the bolts that hold the lock anchored to the door, taking care not to damage the paint around it. 5) Proceed in the reverse order to install everything, making sure to check correct operation and that no fault warning lights have come on.
