Mazda 6 - Video tutorial

Model: Mazda 6 GG, MK 1 - Years 2002-2008
Part: V-belt
Operation: V-belt replacement

The following video tutorial shows the procedure for removing and replacing a worn V-belt from a Mazda 6. To gain better access to the belt, the inner wheel cover must be removed. Take a Phillips screwdriver and remove three small screws holding the panel and pull it out. Now, with a 15 mm wrench, loosen the tension of the belt by acting on the nut positioned in the center of the pulley. In this way it will be possible to extract the worn belt. Using the same principle, it is also possible to replace the timing belt.

At this point, always keeping the accelerator pressed, press the brake pedal 5 consecutive times and, with the pedals in position, turn off the ignition. We check that the procedure has been successful by starting the vehicle.
