How to Replace the Differential Oil in a Mazda Rx8

To replace the differential oil in a Mazda Rx8, start by removing the differential oil drain plug located behind the exhaust using a 24 mm socket. Allow the differential oil to drain into a container.

Once drained, (the video also shows the drain plug being replaced) replace the drain plug gasket, clean the seating area, and refit the drain plug with the same 24 mm socket. After refitting the drain plug, remove the fill plug located just above it. Pour the specified litres from the manufacturer into a bottle, and using a pump, inject the oil into the hole just above the drain plug.

When oil begins to overflow, refit the plug with the same 24 mm socket, and the operation is complete.
