How do you replace the steering angle sensor in a Mercedes Benz SLK55 S.K?

Model: Mercedes Slk MK 3, R172 - Years 2011-2016

So changing the steering angle sensor on your car is not exactly child's play, but it's not an impossible task either. Disconnect the battery to avoid problems with the airbag. Then remove the steering wheel carefully removing the airbag. After removing the screws, remove the steering wheel and access the steering column lock. The sensor is there, usually integrated into the steering column module. Disconnect the connectors, unscrew the old piece and install the new one. Reassemble everything in reverse, reconnect the battery and calibrate with a diagnostic scanner. Without this calibration, the ESP system could have issues. Test the car and make sure everything is working. If all this seems too difficult for you, contact an experienced workshop.
