Operation: Removal of central dashboard on Mercedes SLK

Using a plastic wedge, extract the gearshift gaiter from the base and unscrew the screws underneath. Still with the wedge, extract the large plastic that frames the gearbox itself and that goes up to the car radio. Unhook it a small part at a time, disengaging it from its seat. Disconnect the various connectors, then unscrew the four screws around the car stereo. Pull it out and disconnect the connectors. You can also remove the side bulkhead from the glove compartment, the one towards the door, and unscrew the screws underneath it. Still unscrewing the fixing screws you can remove the area behind the gear lever.
