Removing Central Dashboard on Mercedes SLK

Model: Mercedes Slk MK 3, R172 - Years 2011-2016

Using a plastic wedge, remove the gear gaiter from the base and unscrew the screws underneath. Still using the wedge, remove the large plastic piece that frames the gear lever and extends to the radio. Detach it a small section at a time, freeing it from its housing. Disconnect the various connectors, then unscrew the four screws around the radio. Remove it and disconnect its connectors as well. You can also remove the side panel of the glove compartment, the one towards the door, and unscrew the screws underneath it. By continuing to unscrew the fixing screws, you can remove the area behind the gear lever.
