How to Replace the Automatic Transmission Fluid in the Mercedes A-Class W169

To replace the transmission fluid in the Mercedes A-Class W169, the video uses 6 quarts of fluid with code 30 92 7975. Follow these steps: Start by opening the hood and securing it with the prop rod. Position the car on a level surface using jack stands. Under the hood, move the intercooler hose; just below it is the cover for the automatic transmission fluid fill hole. Remove it by pulling it off, and also take out the gasket using a small pliers. Insert the dipstick into the fill hole to check the transmission fluid level and mark it with a white marker so that when you add the new fluid, it will be at the same level. Now, go inside the car and engage the parking brake. Place wheel chocks to prevent the car from moving; for safety, wear safety goggles to protect your eyes. Go under the car and drain the fluid using a T30 Torx wrench. With the same wrench, remove the oil pan cover with the filter, take out the magnets in the oil pan made of special metal, and remove the gasket surrounding the automatic transmission oil pan. At this point, install the oil filter, the gasket, the magnets, and finally the cover, placing the bolts back in their original positions and tightening them with a torque wrench using a T30 Torx socket to 12 lb-ft, just like the drain plug. Now, using a funnel, create an extension so that it can reach the fill hole with a hose attached with tape. Pour at least 5 quarts into the fill hole, check with the dipstick, and if the previously marked level matches the new fluid level, replace the cap with the gasket. If it is below the level, top it off. Finally, replace the hose in its housing and close the hood.
