Replacing the oil filter on a Mercedes A-Class? Let's see how to replace the filter. Open the car door and pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, then lift the hood and secure it. Remove the ventilation hose, then use a socket wrench to unscrew the large securing bolt of the cap where the oil filter is located. Remove the worn oil filter and install a new one. Top off with new oil and close the hood after reinstalling the air hose that was removed earlier.
