Instructions for Removing the Convertible Top Trim

Model: Mercedes Sl MK 5, R129 - Years 1989-2001

Along the upper edge of the windshield is the mechanism that locks the convertible top when closed, using hooks equipped with hydraulic actuators (the pump and all the system controlling the opening and closing mechanism of the top are located in the trunk). The edge of the windshield is covered by a plastic trim secured with snap clips. To remove it, first, take off the frames around the locking latches of the top, which are secured with a simple screw; once the frames are removed, you can detach the trim.
