How to Remove and Replace the Passenger Airbag on the Mercedes C-Class W204

In this video, see how to remove and replace the passenger airbag on a Mercedes C-Class W204 that displays an error message on the dashboard: the first step is to turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery. Remove the trim from the A-pillar on the passenger side. Take off the retaining ring of the glove compartment to remove it; be careful if there is an AUX or USB port in the compartment. At the top of the glove compartment, there is an air duct that needs to be removed. On the top of the dashboard, identify the cover, open it, and disconnect the electrical connectors. Now, remove the center console, and then the climate control switch panel by disconnecting the electrical connectors. Remove the instrument panel trim and unscrew the screws holding the instrument cluster in place. In the center of the center console, there are two screws to remove (highlighted in the video), then one more above the dashboard, and one on the far right side; from underneath, unscrew the passenger airbag, and by slightly lifting the dashboard (which is free), you can extract it. Place the new module in position, screw it in, and reposition the ventilation duct on the console, then proceed to reassemble everything in reverse order.
