To reset the automatic transmission on a Mercedes-Benz E-Class, turn on the ignition by turning the key. Once the dashboard is on, press the accelerator pedal for at least thirty seconds. After that, turn off the ignition and release the pedal; wait about a minute before starting the car again. Once the engine is running, drive for about fifteen minutes to allow the transmission to readjust to your driving style.
