Where to Find the Fuses in a Mercedes SLK

Model: Mercedes Slk R170, MK 1 - Years 1997-2004

The Mercedes SLK has two fuse boxes. The one in the cabin is located on the dashboard side where the door rests (to the left for left-hand drive vehicles, and to the right for right-hand drive vehicles). To access the fuses, slightly rotate the screws on the cover counterclockwise (using a small flathead screwdriver if necessary). In the engine compartment, the fuse box is on the left side near the brake fluid reservoir; to access the fuses, release the tabs to remove the cover. To replace a fuse, identify it, grasp it with small pliers, pull it out, and check if the bridge inside is broken; if it is, the fuse needs replacing. Otherwise, if the bridge is intact, the fuse is functioning. Replace a fuse with one of the same amperage.
