To reset the automatic transmission of the Mercedes E-Class, turn on the instrument cluster by inserting the ignition key into the ignition switch: once it is on, press the accelerator pedal for about thirty seconds. Then, release the button, wait another thirty seconds, and turn off the ignition; when it is turned on again, you will notice that the gear selector can be moved freely, as it will have been completely reset.
