How Mercedes Air Suspension Works

In this video, you will learn how Mercedes air suspension, called Air Body Control, works. It supports the vehicle with air pressure and absorbs road irregularities in a way that traditional suspensions cannot guarantee, adapting the car according to the road or driving style. This requires sophisticated mechanics, where each wheel has a pneumatic cylinder, and inside each cylinder is a piston with three air chambers that can be activated independently by solenoid valves pressurised by an electric compressor. As a result, you can change the ground clearance to adapt to different roads, thus achieving a setup that maximises the advantages of four-wheel drive.
