Gear Oil Replacement and Maintenance

For gear engagement issues in the automatic gearbox, you should wash and replace the oil in the gearbox. Lift the vehicle on a ramp. Unscrew the oil plug located on the gearbox sump and let it drain into the appropriate container. You may notice metallic residues in the oil just removed. Add the washing additive and use the appropriate equipment to perform a thorough complete wash, then let it drain. After washing, refill the gearbox with the correct amount of the specified oil. Check the engine oil level and take the vehicle for a road test to ensure the automatic gearbox issues have been resolved.
