If the climate control fan in the Mercedes A-Class stops working at the first three speeds and only works at the highest speed, the issue is likely due to the control resistor. To replace it, sit in the front passenger seat, remove the panel under the glove compartment to access the end of the center tunnel under the dashboard.

In the area you uncover, near the firewall, you will find the resistor. Pull it out, disconnect the connector, and replace it with a new one. Insert it back into its place, and before reassembling the panels, check that the fan operates correctly.
