Engine Oil and Filter Replacement

Model: Mini Mini R55, R57, R56 - Years 2007-2014

Lift the vehicle using a hydraulic lift or suitable axle stands. Intercept the drain plug of the oil sump and, after positioning a suitable container (approximately 5 litres), unscrew the plug and drain the used oil. Next, open the front bonnet and locate the oil filter container cap (cartridge filter): it is situated on the front left, positioned laterally. Unscrew the cap and remove the old cartridge, replace it with the new one, and also replace the O-ring seal of the cap provided with the filter. Refit the cap and fill the engine with new oil according to the SAE specifications (5W-30) and the quantities indicated in the user and maintenance manual. At this point, perform the manual reset of the SERVICE light: 1) insert the ignition key and simultaneously, when turning on the ignition, press the trip reset button; 2) hold it down for about 8 seconds and after entering the service menu, continue to hold it; 3) as soon as the main screen reappears, immediately release the trip reset button and press it again for 5 seconds; 4) at this point, the SERVICE menu appears; 5) by pressing the button next to the indicator stalk, you can select the various SERVICE options (oil, front & rear pads, etc.); 6) to reset the various SERVICE indicators, hold down the button next to the indicator stalk until the RESET message appears... and you're done.
