We indicate where these boxes are located, inside the MK1 model: The fuse box for the passenger compartment is located on the left side of the steering wheel (for left-hand drive vehicles): You may need to remove some dashboard pieces to access it. In this box we find the fuse for the cigarette lighter, which is also a power outlet, and it is number 8. The fuse box for the engine compartment, on the other hand, is located on the right side of the engine compartment (looking at the vehicle from the front), between the starter battery and the vehicle body.
