Cleaning the MAF Sensor on the Nissan Pathfinder MK4

If the Nissan Pathfinder's engine experiences power delivery issues and struggles at low revs, the cause may be a dirty MAF sensor. To clean it, open the bonnet.

You will find the sensor on the pipe coming from the air filter. Disconnect the electrical connector, loosen the metal clamp on the pipe, and open the filter cover for easier access to the sensor.

Using a T20 Torx key, unscrew the two screws securing the sensor body and remove it. Spray a specific cleaner for these sensors, allow it to dry, and refit the sensor, securing it with the screws. Replace the cover, tighten the clamp, and reconnect the connector.
