How do you unlock the automatic transmission of the Opel Astra?

In order to unlock the automatic transmission of the Opel Astra, you will need to lever with an object such as a screwdriver to remove the cover of the central tunnel located at the base of the gear selector: once this is detached, it will be possible to lift the leather covering around the selector. Once the covering is lifted, a white tab can be identified that needs to be pressed: in this way the gear selector will be unlocked and it will be possible to move it to put the transmission in neutral. After the procedure, the covering can be repositioned.
