How to Remove the EGR Valve from an Opel Zafira Engine

In this video, we see how to remove the EGR valve from the engine of an Opel Zafira with Y22DTR engine: the valve is located on the right side of the engine, connected to the intake manifold and the gas recirculation pipe, secured with a flange. First, disconnect the battery, remove the electrical connector from the EGR valve, unscrew the fastening bolts, and remove the gas recirculation pipe. Take out the valve and clean the intake manifold of carbon deposits. To physically block the gas flow, it may be useful to install a blanking plate (which can be found on Amazon, for example, with code B07HF663WX at a price of £17.77, with free delivery); some EGR valves have a self-diagnosis system that may reveal the obstruction, indicating error P0401 (insufficient EGR flow) or P0403 (EGR circuit). Permanent removal of the EGR is illegal under EU law (Euro 4/5/6 compliance).
