Removing the EGR valve on an Opel Astra? Let’s see how to take the valve out from the engine bay of the Astra. Lift the bonnet and secure it, then remove the engine soundproofing panel. Start by unscrewing the retaining bolts of the EGR valve. Once the part is removed from its seat, use a screwdriver to unscrew the screws on it if you need to clean and refurbish it. Clean the valve with a suitable product for mechanical parts cleaning: use a brush to assist with the process. If the part is damaged, replace it with a new one of the same type.
