How to Remove the EGR Valve on an Opel Astra H?

This guide shows how to remove the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve on an Opel Astra H. The first step is to locate the valve, which is usually on the right side of the engine. Next, disconnect the power supply electrical connector using a small flathead screwdriver on the connector. Using a 12 mm spanner, unscrew the six bolts securing the valve assembly. Be careful of the small metal gasket near the two valve inlets. At this point, you can remove the valve actuator using the four securing screws and clean the valve with a suitable spray or brake cleaner. Refit it in position.
