How to Replace the Timing Belt on the Opel Corsa D

Replacing the timing belt is a rather complex operation. Here are the key steps you need to follow: First, open the bonnet and lift the car. Remove the front right wheel and the inner wing to access the auxiliary belt and loosen the tensioner to remove it. Next, remove the box containing the air filter, unscrew the engine mount bolts, loosen the screws of the upper timing belt cover, and then, after removing the pulleys and the auxiliary belt, also remove the lower cover. Be very careful to position a pin to keep the camshafts and crankshaft in place to avoid losing engine timing. At this point, loosen the tensioner and, if necessary, remove the water pump pulley and replace it.
