Replacing Front Brake Pads

Model: Vauxhall Astra Astra G - Years 1998-2006

Lift the vehicle onto suitable axle stands and remove the front wheel; before proceeding with the disassembly, lever between the inner pad and the piston to retract it and facilitate removal; remove the protective caps from the caliper fixing pins and unscrew them; detach the retaining spring of the pads, extract the caliper and then the old pads; use a C-clamp to fully retract the caliper piston, insert the new pads and then reinstall the caliper. Pump the brake pedal and pay attention to the initial braking.
