Installing the Exhaust Manifold Gasket

This tutorial covers the installation of a new exhaust manifold gasket for an Opel Astra. The exhaust manifold gasket helps maintain the seal between the exhaust manifold and the side of the engine cylinder head. Once you have obtained a new gasket kit, open the package and carefully lay out each piece on a table. Take the gasket in question and position it so that it perfectly aligns with the exhaust holes. Fit the manifold and, using a ratchet spanner, tighten the bolts that secure it.
