Replacing Rear Discs and Pads

Model: Vauxhall Insigna Insigna A, MK 1 - Years 2008-2017

To replace the rear discs and pads, it is advisable to lift the vehicle on a ramp and remove the rear wheel. Before proceeding with the brake disassembly, lever between the disc and pads to slightly retract the piston, then unscrew the caliper mounting bolts to remove it from its seat. Remove the old pads and also detach the brake caliper support. At this point, unscrew the disc mounting screw from the hub, remove the old disc, clean the disc seat on the hub, and apply grease before installing the new one, ensuring to clean it of protective oil. Then install the caliper support, insert the sliding plates and new pads, lubricating the edges with copper grease. Retract the caliper piston using a suitable clamp and secure it to the support with the appropriately cleaned and lubricated pins. Pump the brake pedal until it offers the correct resistance and check the brake fluid level in the reservoir.
