Replacing the rocker cover gasket on the Opel Meriva

Let's see how to fix the engine oil leak from the rocker cover gasket. Start by removing the engine cover, and you will see oil everywhere underneath. It is essential that the engine is cold; otherwise, you could seriously burn yourself. Remove all the bolts from the lower cover, and you will see that the gasket is cracked. Clean everything thoroughly, both the cover and the engine, from all oil residues, so the new gasket can fit perfectly. Apply high-temperature silicone in the corners, refit the cover with the gasket, without overtightening the nuts. Be careful with the side bolt where the earth wire is connected. Refit the rocker arms, ensuring the connector is positioned correctly. Refit the screws: wait about half an hour for the silicone to set, then you can also refit the cover. Job done.
