How does the emergency SOS call work?

In this video we see a Peugeot 308 that has an error with the emergency call button, which continues to flash. The youtuber connects the computer to the diagnostic socket and finds that it is only a low battery: in fact, the emergency call unit has a separate battery, not connected to the car's main battery. On the Peugeot 308, the unit with the battery is located behind the infotainment system. In the event of a serious accident where we are unable to call for help, the car will automatically activate to do so on our behalf: this is done through communication with the airbag unit. Of course, we can also manually press the SOS button to call for help if we are in trouble for any reason, through the assistance center.
