The auxiliary or service belt drives the alternator, air conditioning compressor, and power steering pump. To replace it, loosen the tensioner and remove the belt, noting the routing around the pulleys (you may need to move a support bracket).

Then, fit the new belt, ensuring it matches the original in terms of groove count and length. Route the belt around the pulleys and tension the corresponding tensioner.

The replacement of the service belt is often overlooked because its failure typically does not cause permanent damage.
