Replacement of the Cylinder Head Gasket

If you need to replace the cylinder head gasket, it is advisable to have it skimmed by a machinist to eliminate any deformations; after skimming, check the flatness of the surface using a straight edge and a feeler gauge; repeat the same check on the cylinder block, also checking the piston protrusion with a digital depth gauge; clean the threads of the head fixing holes with a tap, ensuring that no debris enters the cylinders; at this point, apply the new cylinder head gasket, position the head, and use a new set of bolts to secure it (cross-tightening pattern with a calibrated torque wrench).
