How to Change the Oil in a Ram 1500

Changing the engine oil is a necessary task that must be performed every certain number of miles driven. This helps maintain the health of the engine and ensures excellent performance. Before proceeding, remember to keep the engine off for the entire duration of the operation to work with safe, low temperatures. Lift the vehicle with a hydraulic jack and locate the oil pan underneath. Position a suitable drain pan directly below and proceed to remove the drain plug. Allow all the used oil to drain out, then reattach the drain plug. Next, open the hood, remove the oil filler cap, and pour the new oil into the engine. Reattach the cap and close the hood.
