Next, get inside the vehicle, engage the parking brake, pull the lever to release the hood, and lift the hood, securing it with the prop rod. Unscrew the oil cap. Lift the vehicle with a hydraulic jack and place safety jack stands. Position a container for used oil under the oil pan and unscrew the oil drain plug, waiting for all the oil to drain into the container. Meanwhile, unscrew the oil filter and replace it with a new one. Reinstall the oil cap and lower the vehicle; top off the engine oil (check the owner's manual).
