Let's see how to clean the EGR valve of a Renault Scenic: the EGR valve is located between the intake manifold and the exhaust manifold, fixed by 13 mm screws; it may also be necessary to remove the throttle body. To clean it, the YouTuber uses an oven cleaner, namely a powerful degreaser, we recommend a specific product like Arexons EGR valve cleaner, which can be found on Amazon with the code B01FY0IDDQ at a price of 14.50 euros, with free delivery.

Immerse the valve in a bucket with the product for a couple of hours to soften the dirt, then vigorously scrub the parts, especially the valve stem, with a toothbrush, then rinse with very hot water to remove all residues. Also clean the throttle body, which will be equally full of oil and carbon residues.

The reason why cleaning often is not enough is that the crown that opens and closes the gear wears out and breaks; connect it to the power supply: if it does not move or hold the position, the gear needs to be replaced.
