The service light may not only come on because the engine oil and its filter need replacing; often, other tasks accompany these, such as timing belt, spark plugs, pollen filter, and so on, all according to the schedule outlined in the vehicle's manual by the manufacturer. Once all of this is completed, proceed to clear the alert: with the instrument panel on, use the directional buttons on the right side of the steering wheel to select the Maintenance Interval option in the onboard computer, press Ok to access it, and again Ok to use the Reset.
