In this video, we can see how to clean the EGR valve of a Renault Megane III. We open the hood and remove the engine cover. The EGR valve and its intake duct are right in the center. This valve is used to recycle the gas that the engine did not burn and it gets dirty very quickly. We remove the electrical connector and then remove the bolts that hold the valve in place, which sometimes may not come out easily from its housing. We also need to remove the intake pipe by removing the engine support held in place by two screws. Even this will not be easy to remove. Cleaning the valve and the duct is a long and dirty process that needs to be done in a suitable place, using a degreaser that needs to be applied multiple times, and then cleaning them with gasoline. Once they are clean, we reassemble them starting with the intake duct, where the engine cover support will be reattached, and then we reinstall the EGR valve and reconnect the plug. Operation completed.
