How to Clean the EGR Valve of a Renault Megane III

In this video, you can see how to clean the EGR valve of a Renault Megane III. Open the bonnet and remove the engine cover. The EGR valve and its intake pipe are located at the centre. This valve recycles the gases that the engine has not burned and gets dirty very quickly. Disconnect the electrical connector, then remove the bolts securing the valve, which may sometimes be difficult to remove from its housing. You will also need to remove the intake pipe by taking off the engine support, held in place by two screws. This will not be easy to remove either. Cleaning the valve and the pipe is a lengthy and messy task that should be done in a suitable location, using a degreaser applied multiple times, followed by cleaning with petrol. Once clean, reassemble starting with the intake pipe, where the engine cover support will be refitted, then refit the EGR valve and reconnect the connector. Task complete.
