How to Remove the Lock from the Skoda Octavia 1U (Mk1)

This guide shows how to remove the driver's door lock from the Skoda Octavia 1U (Mk1). First, remove the speaker support plastic and disconnect the connector. Remove the plastic plug inside the handle and lift the window switch assembly; disconnect the electrical cable. Unscrew the exposed screws. Detach the plastic casing of the wiper regulator and disconnect the corresponding cable. Unscrew the screw located behind the door handle. Unscrew the fixing screws of the door panel located on the side of the door. Pull the panel and lift it upwards to remove it; disconnect all cables. At this point, remove the soundproofing panel and unscrew the two fixing screws of the lock from the side of the door. Unscrew the screws securing the key cylinder and remove it. Remove the mechanism and disconnect the cables. Installing the new part is the reverse of disassembly.
