Operation: How to remove the lock on the Skoda Octavia 1U (Mk1)

The guide shows how to remove the driver's door lock of the Skoda Octavia 1U (Mk1). As a first step it is necessary to remove the plastic supporting the loudspeaker and disconnect the connector. Remove the plastic plug inside the handle and lift the power window control panel assembly; disconnect the electric cable. Unscrew the highlighted screws. Detach the plastic cover of the wiper regulator and disconnect its cable. Unscrew the screw located behind the door handle. Unscrew the fixing screws of the door panel located on the side of the door. Pull the panel and lift it upwards to remove it; disconnect all cables. At this point, remove the sound-absorbing panel and unscrew the two fixing screws of the lock on the side of the door. Unscrew the fixing screws of the key pawl and remove it. Remove the mechanism and disconnect the cables. The installation of the new piece is the same as the disassembly but backwards.
