Resetting the Service Light on the Subaru Forester

Model: Subaru Forester MK 4, SJ - Years 2012-2019

After changing the engine oil on the Subaru Forester, you need to reset the system that alerts you to this important maintenance task. Sit in the driver's seat and turn on the ignition. Press the "enter" button located below the hazard button in the centre of the dashboard, then scroll down to display the maintenance menu on the central display. Select "engine oil", confirm, and within this screen select the mileage. Always confirm with "enter" and set the correct value, confirm again, and return to the main screen.
