To replace the fuel filter in a Subaru Outback, you need to completely remove the rear seat bench to access the components underneath. Here, you will find the protective panel for the fuel pump, which is located in the tank.

By removing this panel, you can pull out the fuel pump and consequently remove the filter, which is housed inside it. Once the old filter is removed, insert the new one, reposition it in its place, and reinstall the pump.
