Tesla Model 3 - Video tutorial

Model: Tesla Model 3 MK 1 - Years 2017-2024
Part: Checks and maintenance
Operation: How to perform a hard reset on your Tesla

When you experience problems with your vehicle, sometimes the solution is to perform a hard reset. It's not like pressing the two buttons on the steering wheel, because there are some systems like BMS and MCU that never shut down completely. Then we open the hood and remove the cover, then unscrew and remove the negative pole of the battery. From the rear passenger side, lift the seat slightly so as to reach the low voltage connector of the battery, and disconnect it. You will hear a "clunk". This means that the battery contactors have opened and all systems are no longer powered. When you hear the "clunk" you can reconnect the connector, but leave the negative pole at 12 Volts for another 2 minutes. Now you can reconnect and screw the negative pole to the 12 volt battery. It may take 1 minute for the central screen to turn on again.
