How to enter the "maintenance mode" of Toyota Hybrid

The Maintenance Mode of Toyota hybrid models is a procedure that allows the internal combustion engine to start, even when it normally would not start on its own. It is used during exhaust gas checks, such as periodic inspections, diagnostics, or in certain maintenance situations. To start it, follow this procedure: press the ignition button without pressing the brake, ensuring that the car is in "P"; press the accelerator all the way down twice; keep the brake pedal pressed and put the gear in "N"; press the accelerator all the way down twice; keep the brake pedal pressed and put the gear in "P", then press the accelerator all the way down twice again: the "maintenance mode" light will turn on on the display. Keep the brake pedal pressed and press the ignition button; the internal combustion engine will start at 1000 rpm and will not stop until the car is turned off; by accelerating, you can reach up to 2500 rpm, allowing for emissions checks.
