Opening the gas cap on a Toyota Corolla is a very simple and quick operation to do independently. Before opening the gas tank cap, we must open the fuel door, and to do this, we must open the driver's side door and pull the lever next to the seat with the gas pump symbol.

Once the door is open, you will need to unscrew the cap counterclockwise to refuel. Close the cap once finished, and then close the fuel door.

This procedure is the same on many Toyota Corolla vehicles from other years.
