In this video, we can see how to reset the idle on almost all Toyota vehicles from 2000 onwards. Why "almost" all? Because this is a system that only works on vehicles with automatic transmission: it does not work on manual transmission. First of all, the vehicle must be nice and warm, then let it rest for a bit. We put the key in the ignition and turn on the dashboard, then turn it off. Then we turn it on and off again, and at that point, we will start the engine. We press the brake pedal all the way down and also engage the parking brake. We put it in "drive" and leave it like that for a while, allowing the vehicle to learn the idle: it will take seven to eight minutes for the vehicle to memorize the new idle.
