How to Change the Engine Oil of the Toyota Verso

On the Toyota Verso, changing the oil is done safely with the car on level ground and the engine off. Warm the engine slightly to make the oil more fluid, then turn it off and wait a few minutes. Place the car on axle stands or a ramp, use gloves and goggles, and prepare a suitable container: the oil can be very hot. Access the underbody and position the container under the sump. Loosen the drain plug and allow the oil to drain completely, without rushing. When the flow has stopped, replace the plug using the correct seal (if required by your model/part) and tighten it to the torque specified by the manufacturer, avoiding over-tightening the threads. Next, move on to the oil filter. In this configuration, the filter is a cartridge type housed in a filter holder with a hexagonal cap under the engine: unscrew the cap, remove the filter element, and replace the O-ring/seal of the filter holder. Before reassembling, clean the mating surfaces and lightly lubricate the new seal with a thin layer of clean oil, so it seats without pinching. Insert the new cartridge, close the filter holder, and tighten securely. Return to the engine bay, unscrew the filler cap, and pour in the new oil according to the specifications and quantity stated in the owner's manual. Replace the cap, start the engine for a few seconds to circulate the oil, and then turn it off. Wait for settling and check the level with the dipstick: if necessary, top up with small amounts until the correct level is reached. Carefully close the cap and dipstick, then check for any leaks around the drain plug and filter holder.
