Here are the correct and safe steps to connect the jump leads on a Toyota Yaris Hybrid: we are referring to the 12-volt battery, as the high-voltage traction battery should never be touched. The latest models, from 2020 onwards, have the battery under the rear seat, but the connection occurs via the positive terminal located under the bonnet, near the engine fuse box, as shown in the video. By opening a rectangular cover, you will find the terminal to connect the red positive lead from the donor vehicle (or the booster); for the negative, connect to an unpainted metal ground in the engine bay, such as a bolt.
