How to Replace the Key Battery in a Toyota

On the right side of the key, you will notice a button marked "push". Press that button, and you will be able to extract the physical emergency key inside. Next, reinsert the emergency key into the electronic key for a sixth of its length, lever it open, and you will have successfully opened the electronic key. Once opened, you will see the battery to be replaced, a CR1632 of three volts. To remove the battery from the key, you will need a thin, small tool, such as a pin or a small flat-head screwdriver. Once you have removed the old battery, insert the new battery, sliding it into place and applying light pressure. Finally, reassemble the two halves of the electronic key, press gently, and reinsert the emergency key inside. After completing this step, you will have successfully replaced the battery.
