Operation: How to replace the timing chain on a Toyota Yaris

Before we can begin, we'll need to open the hood. Once the hood is open, we will start with the disassembly of the alternator, water pump, left front wheel and all pulleys and the service belt. Once we have finished disassembling all these components, we can begin to disassemble the crankcase that covers the timing chain. To be able to disassemble it, we will have to unscrew all the bolts placed along the perimeter of the crankcase. When we have also removed the carter, we will have to align the two upper crowns. To align them, you simply have to rely on the signs placed on them. They can be considered aligned when the two lines match. Subsequently we will go to disassemble the two chain guards, unscrewing the relative bolts. By doing so we will be free to remove the chain. Then we will go to position the new chain, and at that point it will be necessary to simply follow the steps in reverse to reassemble everything, and we will have finished replacing the timing chain.
