To replace the battery in your car key, no mechanical or electronic experience is required. You can complete the process in a few simple steps that take just seconds. First, locate the "push" button on the side of the cover. Press it and remove the physical key. Use the key to pry outward by inserting the tip into the slot. Remove the back cover. The button cell battery is located beneath the electronic part of the key, so disassemble it and turn it over. Simply replace the old battery with the new one and reassemble the cover.
