How to Change the Engine Oil, Spark Plugs, and Various Filters on a Toyota Etios

To change the oil filter and engine oil on a Toyota Etios, start by pouring engine lubricant into the oil filler cap. After pouring the lubricant, let the engine run at idle for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, turn off the engine, go under the car, and using a wrench, unscrew the oil drain plug, allowing the oil to drain into a container. While the oil drains, use a chain wrench to unscrew the oil filter, letting the oil drain into the container. Once all the oil has drained, clean the oil filter seat and drain plug, then reinstall the filter and plug. After reinstalling the oil filter and drain plug, go to the cabin on the passenger side, under the dashboard, remove the plastic cover, and take out the cabin filter. Take the new filter and install it the same way the old one was positioned, then close the cover. Now, take the new oil, pour it into the oil filler cap, and when you are close to the indicated quarts, check the level using the dipstick (check the level a second time after removing the dipstick). If the level is at the max mark, it is fine; otherwise, top it off (you can also check the oil level later by running the engine for a few minutes and then checking it). Now, let's change the air filter by detaching the tabs on the airbox cover, removing the cover, taking out the old filter, inserting the new filter, and closing the cover by securing the tabs.
