Toyota Avensis - Video tutorial

Model: Toyota Avensis MK 1, T220 - Years 1997-2003
Part: Engine oil
Operation: Check engine oil level and top up

It is very important to periodically check the engine oil level, especially to ascertain if there are problems related to its consumption. All engines are in fact equipped with a so-called stick that allows you to check the status of the engine oil level (some car models also have a sensor that allows you to view the engine oil level on the instrument panel display, generally at start-up). At the end of the stick there is in fact a level indicator between MIN (minimum) and Max (maximum) and it is absolutely important that the level is always included between these two limits, never below or above. To check the level, simply extract the stick, clean the end, insert it again as far as it will go and extract it to check to what extent it is soiled by the oil. It is preferable to carry out this check cold, since it is certain that there is no oil still in circulation and that everything has been deposited in the special cup; when the engine is hot, it is absolutely necessary to wait about 10-15 minutes to allow all the oil in circulation to flow into the sump. Between the minimum and maximum level there is approximately one liter of oil. If topping up, wait for the oil to flow into the sump before repeating the check.
